John Y. Kim
John Kim, Esq., is the litigation director at Yonsei Law Firm. John is staunch believer in civil rights and equal access to justice for all the people irrespective of their race, economic, immigrant status. John has over 20 years of legal experience in family and civil litigation.
John immigrated to U.S. when he was 15 years old. John is a graduate of Loyola Law School and UC Riverside with psychology degree. Prior to law school, John was a mental health specialist and administrative court interpreter.
Prior to joining Yonsei Law Firm, John was the Managing Director of Client Services at Asian Americans Advancing Justice- Southern California, the nation’s largest legal and civil rights organizations for Asian Americans, Native Hawaiians, and Pacific Islanders (AANHPIs). John managed Asian language lines, anti-Asian hate taskforce, eviction defense, and family law units providing services to 15,000 clients annually.
John claims to be a professional musician playing all the instruments in his blackened amelodic death atmospheric depressive doom metal album that he’s been recording in his closet for last 30 years. John hates hugs.
